2020 Panreligious Calendar for all of your Panreligious Needs
MM/DD-MM/DD, MM/DD: Name (Alternative Name) [Religion]
Sometimes the final pair of brackets will have the name of a country instead of a religion. This is because the holiday is religious in nature, but is not widely celebrated outside of this area.
In general, for the purposes of this list, Eastern Orthodox Christians and Coptic Orthodox Christians are grouped separately to "Christian" as they operate on a different calendar. All dates are according to the Gregorian Calendar. It is assumed that you are in the Northern Hemisphere.
If I messed something up, please let me know!

BMC Issues SOPs for Navratri; 5 People Allowed at Mandaps, Flowers, Sweets Banned
Coronavirus LIVE Updates: The BMC on Thursday issued guidelines for Navratri celebrations. Idol height restricted to 4 feet for public mandaps, and 2 feet for home idols. Satinisation for mandaps is a must, and no flowers and sweets are allowed. The authorities said they would encourage people to go for online darshan.
Meanwhile, West Bengal has extended coronavirus restrictions till October 30. The state government, however, relaxed night movement between October 10-20 for Durga Puja, which begins from October 11.
Meanwhile, twenty-three MBBS students studying in KEM & Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai have been found to be corona positive even after taking the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.┬аThe daily rise in coronavirus infections had remained below 20,000 for the second consecutive day on Thursday with 18,870 fresh cases recorded in a single day.┬аActive cases as of now stand at 2,77,020 while the total cases tally has now reached 3,37,39,980. A total of 3,30,14,898 recoveries have been recorded. Death toll is currently 4,48,062. Total vaccinations in the last 24 hours were recorded at 65,34,306.
Here are the top developments:
тАУ Mizoram reported 1,741 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking the number of active cases to 16,841, officials said. Among the new patients were 304 children, they said.┬аOne more person died of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours, pushing the toll to 307.
тАУ тАЬAll 23 students were vaccinated with at least one dose of vaccine. Some of them have mild symptoms. It may have spread due to some cultural or sports event held in the college,тАЭ said Mayor Kishori Pednekar.
тАУ Out of 29, 23 students are in second year MBBS and 6 students are first year MBBS. Out of 29 students who tested positive for corona, 27 students took both doses of corona vaccine.
тАУ Two students have been admitted to Seven Hills Hospital for treatment while the other students have been quarantined.
тАУ How all these students became infected with the virus is being investigated.
тАУ Rising above the 20k mark, India in the last 24 hours reported 23,529 new Covid-19 cases, 28,718 recoveries and 311 deaths, as per Union Health Ministry.
тАУ The active cases comprise 0.84 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.83 per cent, the highest since March 2020, the ministry said.
тАУ As many as 15,04,713 tests were conducted on Tuesday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 56,74,50,185. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.25 per cent.
тАУ Maharashtra has planned to setup 60-70 field hospitals across districts to cater to Covid patients round the year. According to a report by Times of India, these 50 to 100-bed facilities are part of a larger plan to create parallel infrastructure so that future Covid waves donтАЩt disrupt non-Covid work at permanent hospitals.
тАУ The field hospitals would largely come up in tier-II and tier-III cities that tend to get overwhelmed with any spurt in cases The state plans to build them with a durability for 20 years and wonтАЩt be temporary structures.
тАУ Many governments across the globe, that once relied on vaccines from Sinovac Biotech Ltd. or Sinopharm Group Co Ltd. are now turning to options from the US and Europe, as concerns mount about Chinese vaccinesтАЩ efficacy against the delta strain and the Western stranglehold on mRNA supplies grows looser.

The top-selling products demand is back.
IndiaтАЩs major consumer electronics and home appliance manufacturers such as LG, Samsung, Bosch, Siemens, Panasonic, Godrej Appliances and Haier posted the best sales of the past five years in August, which is good news for the Indian economy, which contracted 23.9% in the three months ended June 30, 2020.
The good news was that the top-selling products last month were large refrigerators, washing machines, high-end dishwashers and microwaves, indicating that discretionary demand is back.
Big companies have said that Independence Day sales in the e-commerce markets were тАЬmassiveтАЭ and that the return of consumer finance has also helped. The companies estimate that they increased their sales 25 to 40% in August from the previous year, while sequential sales growth in July is more than 20%, the Economic Times reported. тАЬThe demand continues to increase, we have published our best August performance in more than five years тАУ a 40% increase in sales,тАЭ LG vice president Vijay Babu told Daily Business. LG Electronics is the largest appliance manufacturer in the country. Neeraj Bahl, CEO of BSH Home Appliances India, which makes Bosch and Siemens home appliances, said its performance in August was the best in a decade in terms of revenue and unit sales. тАЬWe hope the Christmas season is good, although Onam in Kerala has been relatively moderate,тАЭ Bahl told the publication.
The companies said the demand was more for high-capacity products: refrigerators of more than 300 liters, washing machines of more than 6 kg and products such as microwaves and dishwashers. Consumers also buy large TVs with screen sizes of 40 inches or more, according to the publication.
Panasonic India CEO Manish Sharma said the favorable monsoon, working from home, improving consumer confidence and increasing the number of new buyers in rural markets are driving this demand. Consumers in all markets prefer large-screen LED televisions to smartphones for streaming content, he said.
Every month, businesses experience a growing demand for televisions, appliances and personal care products due to changes in consumer habits. In fact, most large companies had reached pre-Covid activity levels in July. This had caused a shortage of certain products such as dishwashers due to a sudden increase in demand.
Eric Braganza, president of Higher India, told Daily Business that the brand had the highest sales on television in August. тАЬThis is despite the fact that 10 to 15% of the stores remain closed due to local closures. We are now optimistic about the Christmas season despite the contraction in GDP growth, thanks to the bumper harvest, rural markets are doing exceptionally well and there is a change in consumption patterns as well, тАЭhe said.
If August is any indication, there may be a lot of holiday cheer for the big consumer electronics brands. The Christmas season, which begins with Navratri and runs through Diwali, typically accounts for 40-45% of the annual activity of home appliance manufacturers.

Navratri Day 6. This day is dedicated to worshipping the Katyayani avatar of Goddess Parvati. It is said that Goddess Katyayani is the Warrior Goddess and is full of rage, unlike other forms of Parvati. It is said that the planet Brihaspati is governed by Goddess Katyayani and worshipping the deity with a bhog of Honey or Meethe Paan (sweet betel leaf) removes negativity and brings happiness.
